Last night we soaked away our aches and pains in here and this morning it was covered with about 2 1/2 inches of snow.
This is our back yard first thing this morning.
View out our front window.
A cold snowy day calls for soup! I made a nice corn/potato/ham and veggie chowder.
It's the perfect thing to warm you from the inside out and I had 2 bowl fulls!
The view down town towards the railroad and pea elevator.
One of the old churches in our town.
A closer view of the church. If you have seen the movie "Talent for the Game" you have seen this church in it.
Town Hall and the grain elevator in the background.
Old Catholic Church that sat vacant for years.
I found this link on the Kona FB site. I love your blog!
This little town looks like the ideal place to live (if you can't live in Kona). Maybe it's because of the blanket of snow, but there is something idyllic about your town.
. . . and the chowder juxtaposed with the hot tub! Ahh! There is nothing as homey and satisfying as homemade chowder after a dip in the HOT TUB!
Love your work! Aloha no!
Oh! Lovely pictures! I want snow!ReplyDelete
Thanks Shellie and Cheryl. :)ReplyDelete
Cheryl, do you think you guys will get any snow this year?
Shellie, this town is a lot like growing up in small town Hawaii. If your kid does something at one end of town, you know about it by the time they get home. ;) It really has been a great place to raise our kids who have lots of hanai grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles here along with many friends that have become like brothers and sisters to them and like sons and daughters to us. :)
Love the pictures, Deb. Fun to see your little town!ReplyDelete
