My sweet hubby worked on weeding the garden in between the waves of rain. |
A new to me cookbook that I picked up at the thrift store yesterday was read through and enjoyed. |
Rufus went to town trying to get every last bit of catnip eaten that I had sprinkled on his bed. |
Caesar worked on dismantling his new toy. ;) |
Garlic and herb croutons were made, much to my hubby's delight. |
A dear friend's video she shared of her walk along the beach in Hawaii inspired me to make some white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies. |
Caesar decided that Rufus's bed made a good pillow to rest his head on while he napped. |
I made my hubby his favorite tuna and pasta salad for his lunch today. |
And I also made a Greek pasta salad for me. Sometimes a quiet day at home is just what we all need. :) |
You have gorgeous flowers! I'm very envious. How colorful your whole yard must be!
ReplyDeleteI also like how shiny Rufus's coat is. Is he a young cat? He's gorgeous.
I'll be over to get some cookies from you soon. If I start driving now I should make it to Washington State in what? 5 days of driving?
You are very right: a quiet day at home is often what we just need here too!
Thanks Nathalie. Rufus was a rescue cat that we got from the Humane Society. He had been abandoned by his first owners, taken to the Humane Society, adopted by another family and then returned by them for health reasons. He is a special needs cat with food and environmental allergies so he is on a special grain free (and expensive...ouch) cat food. He is about 2 years old and is still in the crazy kitten stage. You are more than welcome to come for cookies! :)
DeleteYou definitely need them regularly. Resting when the CF kicks in is not the same as a nice slow day of enjoyment. Glad for you and, by the way, pass me a cookie.
ReplyDeleteHere ya go Barbara! :)
DeleteThose pasta salads look yummy. So do the cookies, although now I'm kind of wanting cookies with my coffee. Ha ha :-)
ReplyDeleteCaesar looks like my dog I had growing up, although Caesar looks full German Shepherd and our dog was blonde because he had lab mixed in with his German Shepherd. I love German Shepherds though, I'll have another one someday. Such loyal and smart dogs.
Have a great day Debbie!
Hi Jessica! Caesar is part White German Shepard and part Arctic Wolf. He is one of the sweetest dogs that we have ever had. The dog we had before him, Shasha, was a pure White German Shepard and I was devastated when she passed away. Caesar is HUGE and unfortunately was not trained well before we got him. We are his 4th owners. He does not listen well when he escapes from the yard and sees it as a game to have us try and catch him. This happened yesterday again after I had posted this. He finally wore himself out and came back to me with my husband following behind him. I was afraid he would get out into the fields and be mistaken for a wolf and shot.
DeleteI would have that fear too! Poor Caesar. Bless you guys for giving the poor guy a home! :-)
DeleteNice flowers! And, of course, your fur babies are lovely too. My dog also has allergies - food and, once that was under control, found out he's got environmental allergies as well. Who knew a dog could be allergic to the lawn? ha! And, as my vet points out, he's on the most expensive dog food on the market.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a quiet day as well, but I haven't crashed. Yea! I'm enjoying the cooler weather and hint of rain last night. Although, the change may effect my strawberries.
Do you have a post for the tuna pasta salad? And those cookies look yummy as well! Cheers, SJ in Vancouver BC
HI SJ! My strawberries are enjoying the cooler weather and are still doing really well. I think your's should be fine as long as you don't get a freeze. Yea for no crashes! I don't think I have ever done a post on my tuna pasta salad because it is one of those things that I just throw together. It's super easy. I just mix 1 or 2 cans of tuna with some mayonnaise and celery salt to taste. I then add some diced celery and cooked cold noodles to it. You can also add dill, grated carrots, or whatever else you want. I add more mayo if it seems dry. Easy peasy! :) Have a great day!
DeleteYour greek pasta salad looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy! I just throw whatever sounds good together, add Italian salad dressing, feta cheese and olives and there ya go!
DeleteI always love the animal pics! That dog is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! We have had offers from people to buy him from us. One guy even offered to trade us his truck for our dog. Not going to happen though. Caesar is family and you don't sell or trade family. ;)
