Sidelined by a Virus and a Peak at my Walmart Beauty Box

Hi all,  The crud got me.  Saturday we spent the early evening with our kids and grandkids and had a wonderful time bowling.  By later that night, I knew that I was coming down with something and was praying that I would not pass it on to the kids.  Poor Rachel is in the last few weeks of her pregnancy with Steven and the last thing I want to do is "share" this with her.  I was supposed to spend this Wednesday with her but I am going to have to cancel since I am still running a fever and coughing.  Looking back, I got sick with something similar about 2 weeks before Bradley made his grand entry into the world too  Yesterday I spent the entire day in bed dozing on and off with a high fever.  Today my fever is slightly lower and I am actually able to get up and at least mix up some tuna salad for Jeff and I to have later in wraps.  Praying by tomorrow I will be doing much better and be fever free.

Anyway, I have been wanting to share what I I got in my Walmart quarterly Beauty Box.  This time around they offered a special box and I opted for that one instead of the Classic Box that I usually get.  I am so glad I did!  This thing was loaded with all kinds of products including nail polish, lip gloss, hair care products, beauty masks, lotions, toothpaste and antiperspirant along with some high value coupons.  The boxes only cost $5 to cover shipping and are a nice surprise 4 times a year and something that I look forward to.  I figure that a cup of coffee at one of the coffee stands costs just as much if not more and is gone in nothing flat while these products are ones that I can enjoy for awhile. If you want to get in on this, here is the link to sign up for your own Walmart Beauty Box  https://beautybox.walmart.com/   Enjoy!

  3. So sorry that you're under the weather. I hope you're up and at it soon. This spring time weather shouldn't be missed!
What fun to get those beauty boxes! Seems like a bargain for $5.
I've been playing in the dirt and gardening all weekend. Trying to take it easy today although I did get some watering done. Tomorrow is my day to go to the thrift store and hunt for some bargains. Cheers, SJ

  4. Hi again. Yesterday I mentioned the Goodwill warehouse. It's actually called the Goodwill Outlet. I just looked it up because I thought I might have the name wrong, and I did. Bad memory - being 60yo or CFS?
Anyway, the only one in Eastern WA is in Pasco but there's one in Lewiston according to the google search.
    Hope you're feeling better. SJ

    1. Hi SJ, I could not find one listed in Lewiston but I believe Spokane has one. I'm still under the weather but am at least able to get some things done now.

  5. What a neat thing that is! My daughter signed up for something similar, but I can't remember what it's called.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. You're the 3rd or 4th blog friend that I visited that's sick :/

    hugs,

    1. Hi Rue, there are many different companies that you can sign up with to get beauty boxes. For me, Walmart was the cheapest and I actually use the products. :)

  7. Hi Debbie! :)
I hoppe you get well soon. That box is full of good stuff and it sure is a bargain!
Oh, another thing: the other day I thought of you, because I was readind about spelt and they said it was good for people with arthritis. Unless you're allergic to gluten or wheat.
I bought a spelt "milk" package at Aldi, but haven't tried it yet, so I can´t tell you if it tastes good or not.
But I'm sending you 2 links I found, about it.

Have a nice (and fever/virus) free week!

  11. Debbie I imagine you're feeling better today! Hope you are completely well. The Walmart box sounds like a good idea. One can always give away the things you are not going to use. That would be 20 dollars per year? I did not found the link but will look back at this post again. Take care and blessings!!

  12. So happy to see that you've replied to some posts. But so sorry that you're still down with the crud. Since getting sick with CFS, I take a long time to get over 'normal' bugs. Take good care of yourself.
My thrift store shopping was quite productive! I got a pair of dressy shorts and a pair of jeans. Neither of which are dog walking clothes! I wanted something to wear going out to eat and these are perfect. I also found two almost new t-shirts for 'house wear'. And of course, more dvds.
The rain has given me a needed break from gardening. I slept in until 830 today which is quite unusual for me.
    Take good care, SJ

    1. HI SJ, I do too! I thought I was getting better and then today I had a rough day. I finally mixed up some home remedy cough medicine (I put a link to it in my Frugal Friday Wrap Up Post) and it really did help with the cough and cleared some of the congestion also.

I am so happy that you found some great deals on clothing and on the dvds! Which dvds did you buy? I am always curious to see what other people like movie wise. :)

      Be blessed!
