My Banana Bread
Mrs. Chrissy T asked me to share my recipe for our favorite banana bread. Here is the one that I have been making for years. I get requests for it and it is a best seller at church bazaars. I hope you enjoy it!
Banana Bread
1/2 c. margarine or butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cups sifted all purpose flour (I use half white and half whole wheat)
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 t. cinnamon
2-3 mashed bananas
Beat the margarine or butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat until think. Sift in dry ingredients and mix. Add bananas and continue to mix. Fill a greased large loaf pan and bake at 350 F for one hour or until bread tests done.
Makes one loaf.

DeleteWrote this one down. Yummy - thx.
ReplyDeleteI used to make banana bread all the time when I had a full house. Need to do that now as I have a few bananas in the freezer. Very nice that this is just one load. Yea!
Also, btw, I used to substitute applesauce and banana flavoring if I had run out of actual bananas. No one ever noticed or complained. Can't tell you the measurements exactly - I just added enough until it looked right. hahaha.
Cheers, SJ
