Visits from some of my Favorite People

Bradley came for a visit last week for the afternoon and we had a great time.  The only problem was that his daddy (my son Chris) got off too early and came to take him back home. ;)  Looking at this picture I am amazed at how big Bradley is getting!  Slow down baby!!!

I didn't get a picture of Heather when I went to pick Bradley up from her but I was really happy to have seen her too! ;)

Jaysn also came over this weekend to have a belated birthday dinner with us. :)  He also spent lots of time teaching his dad how to download music to the IPOD from the computer.  Thank you Jaysn!!!  That saved me hours of work trying to figure it out. ;)

Of course I am missing my son Josh and my DIL Jess who are  currently overseas.  Thank goodness for SKYPE or I would go nuts!  It really does help to be able to see and talk to them but I miss being able to give them hugs.  Hopefully we will get to share lots of those next Summer.

Happy 25th Birthday Jaysn!

Happy Birthday Jaysn!  Dad and I cannot believe you are 25 already...where did the time go?  Dad and I were looking at old family photos the other night and found lots of you as a baby and toddler...so precious!  It brought back many wonderful memories and reminded us of God's grace, promise and answered prayers. You are an amazing son to us, brother to Chris, Josh, Heather and Jessica, and uncle to Bradley. :)  We could not love you more or be any prouder of you and the wonderful man of God that you are.  Praying your 25th year on this earth is blessed beyond measure!

Marriage Verses to Live By

Matthew 19:4-6 NIV
"Haven't you read," he replied, " that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said, " For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh" So they are no longer two but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 NIV
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Proverbs: 18:22 NIV
He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord

Song of Songs 8:6-7 NIV
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm, for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love, rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

The Treasures One Can Find At Thrift Stores!

One of the things that I really enjoy doing is hunting thrift stores for treasures.  I have been able to find many items that are brand new with tags along with some other fun and useful items.  Here is just a sampling of one of my recent thrift shopping finds.
Necklaces for $1.99 and $2.99 each.

Brand new with tags Eddie Bauer Sweater  $3.99 and Merona long sleeved shirt $2.99.

Large lidded basket for $3.99 (gave to my son Jaysn to keep all his bills and mail in).

Two brand new pairs of ski boarding socks for the hubby at $1.97 each.

I recently hit some great stores while we were on vacation and found even more treasures!  I love saving money while getting things that we want and need.

The Place We Go To Heal

A much needed walk down to the beach with Moki.
Moki testing out the rather cold but crystal clear water.
 The view down the lake.
Gorgeous Fall colors.  I love it there this time of year.
Another view of the homeowners beach.  It is so peaceful.
Jeff trying to get Moki to sit still for the camera...it was a losing battle. ;)
So many beautiful walks to take.  Just look at those fluffy clouds against that big blue sky.
Moki, one of the sweetest and most loving dogs around.  She and I spent a lot of time together.  Just petting her velvety soft ears and giving her tummy rubs made us buddies for life.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, tomorrow
I love ya
Tomorrow,
You're only a day away!

 :)

Tomorrow Jeff and I are heading out to the most relaxing place we know...my parents lake front home in Montana.  As soon as we come over the rise and see Flathead Lake I feel the tension melt away and my eyes start tearing up.  I know once I see that view that it is only a short time until we are at my parents house.  They have built a beautiful home and life on one of the prettier and smaller lakes there surrounded by God's beauty and by some wonderful neighbors who have become "family".

Tomorrow we will get to hug and kiss my parents and my brother whom we love dearly.

Tomorrow we will sit in front of the big stone fireplace laughing, sharing stories and just enjoying being with three of the people that mean the most to us.

Tomorrow night we will cuddle up in the big log bed under one of my mom's gorgeous handmade quilts and look out across the lake with the moonlight reflecting off the water before we drift off to sleep.

And tomorrow, my son Jaysn will be here, taking care of our home, so that we can make this much needed trip over.

Tomorrow can't come soon enough...praying I can get some sleep tonight.
