Yea for snow!! We are still holding at rain. Although earlier today it looked quite 'chunky' like it was almost snow. I know, careful what you wish for, right? Also about those Christmas crackers, in addition to the candy, tissue hats shaped like crowns and corny jokes, there was always one toy or game or something silly like a nail brush or pen. Think prize like in the old Cracker Jack candy boxes. Something really really cheap. But the interesting thing was everyone at the Christmas table would start trading these silly things. It would get quite competitive and always very funny - especially as everyone is wearing their 'tissue crowns'. Anyway, it became a very fun tradition. The other tradition for desert were 'snowballs' aka a scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in coconut with a birthday candle in each one. Once everyone was served at the table, then all the candles would be quickly lit. The game was to see who at the table could eat the most from their 'snowball' and still keep their candle upright and lit. Their was a silly prize at the end for the winner. In writing this, I realize my family (mostly my aunt) was really fun! SJ
