Debbie's Banana Bread

Banana Bread

1/2 c. margarine or butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cups sifted all purpose flour (I use half white and half whole wheat)
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 t. cinnamon
2-3 mashed bananas

Beat the margarine or butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat until think. Sift in dry ingredients and mix. Add bananas and continue to mix. Fill a greased large loaf pan and bake at 350 F for one hour or until bread tests done.

Makes one loaf.

  1. Thank you for posting this recipe, Debbie. It's very timely for me. The recipe I have calls for 5 ripe bananas and this week I just have 2 bananas, which is what your recipe states! Now, if only it gets cool enough to bake...
